Hisham Harun Hashim

Hisham was born in Kota Bharu, Kelantan, in 1954, the second son of Justice Tan Sri Harun Mahmud Hashim, judge of the Supreme Court of Malaysia. After attending several schools around the country due to his father’s governmental duties, Hisham eventually graduated from the Royal Military College, Sg Besi, Malaysia in 1973. Thereafter, he proceeded to read Law at The Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn, London. In 1977, Hisham was called as a
Barrister to the High Court of England & Wales.

Hisham chambered at the firm of Messrs Shook Lin & Bok in Kuala Lumpur, and was made an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 1978, whereupon he commenced his practice as a Legal Assistant at the same firm. In 1981, he left to join as a Partner of Messrs Abdul Aziz & Ong, and then established his own firm of Messrs H.H. Hashim & Co in 1987. After a few years taking leave to head a Public Listed Company, Hisham was joined by his
aunt, Nik Mariah Kamil, to establish the firm of Messrs Kamil Hashim in 1998. The firm then merged with Messrs V. Bala & Pury and Messrs KM Lim & Tan in 2006, to establish what is now known as Messrs Kamil Hashim Raj & Lim.

In addition to his legal practice, Hisham was very active in the corporate world holding Directorships in several companies including some listed on Bursa Malaysia. Additionally, Hisham was a Deputy President of the Malaysian Institute of Directors, and co-authored the book “Practical Guide for Company Directors”.

Hisham contributed his knowledge and experience by doing charitable, firstly as a member of the Board of Spastics Children Association of Selangor & Kuala Lumpur, and then joining the Malaysian Red Crescent Society as a Life Member. He was a Committee Member upon the establishment of its Kuala Lumpur Branch, and then was elected to the National Board of this Society in 1990, eventually holding the office of Deputy Chairman of the Malaysian
Red Crescent Society in 2002 until his retirement in 2014. In this time, Hisham was also elected as a Member of the Governing Board of the International Federation of Red Cross & Red Crescent Societies based in Geneva, Switzerland from 2009 till 2013.

Hisham’s knowledge and experience in the legal practice are in the fields of Corporate Law, Conveyancing, Banking, Islamic Family law and International Humanitarian Law.


Ahmad Nazri Ibrahim


Nazri graduated with a Bachelor in Laws from the University of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. He was then admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in the year 1989.

Since then, Nazri had been handling cases from the Subordinate Courts, Court of Appeal and all the way to the Federal Court. He possesses extensive exposure and experience in corporate and corporate litigation matters. Nazri’s area of expertise as a legal consultant include: Privatization Projects – State and Federal, Development and Construction Joint Ventures, Company restructuring and Corporate Financing, Land Development and Construction Cases, Gas Reticulation Industry (LPG and LNG), Corporate Contractual Matters, Selected Litigation and Corporate Advisory matters.

Nazri was appointed as a speaker and trainer for the Companies Commission of Malaysia in issues on Corporate Governance and Director’s Legal responsibilities. Further he has succeeded in training in excess of 200,000 company directors, foreign and domestic, in Malaysia.

Among the institutions involved are: Companies Commission of Malaysia; Permodalan Usahawan Nasional Berhad; Ministry of Defence (PERHEBAT); Lembaga Tabung Haji; Lembaga Pertubuhan Peladang; Pertubuhan-pertubuhan Peladang Kawasan (Peninsula Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak); Malay Chamber of Commerce; Chinese Chamber of Commerce; German Chamber of Commerce; Federal Land Development Authority; Land Surveyor Association; BCB Commerce Asset; Association of Development Financial Institution of Malaysia, Asia and the Pacific; Malaysian Association of Tax Accountants; Malaysian Technology Development Corporation; Technology Park Malaysia; Johor Corporation; ESSET (EPF); ILKAP; Sabah Economic Development Corporation; Exco kerajaan Negeri Johor; Exco Kerajaan Negeri Melaka; PUSPANITA; Perbadanan Kemajuan Ekonomi Islam Negeri Johor, and many more.

Nazri has also been appointed as an External Examiner for the Malaysian Association of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (MAICSA); A panel member of the Ethic Committee of the Association of Tax Accountants; Guest Speaker for the Post-graduate Studies of the Faculty of Architecture, University of Agriculture, Malaysia; Guest Speaker for the Companies Commission of Malaysia; Guest Speaker for Uni-Technologies Sdn Bhd (Wholly owned company of UTM); and Guest Speaker for Monfort D’University, and many others.

In addition to that, Nazri has been appointed as a legal consultant for a German company (IBC Solar AG) in 2007, and was instrumental and solely responsible in the contribution and installation of a hybrid solar power plant (autonomous 24 hour power with local distribution grid for 57 families) in the settlement of Kerapa Spak in the district of Bentong, Sarawak at a cost of RM4.5 million with the backing of the Chief Minister of Sarawak in 2008.

Malar Loganathan

Malar read law in the chambers of Messrs Kamil Hashim Raj & Lim and was admitted to the Malaysian Bar as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 9th March 2018. She graduated with her Law Degree from University of Sheffield, United Kingdom and is a Barrister from the Lincoln’s Inn, England.

Upon her admission to the English Bar, Malar pursued her Masters at Cardiff University and obtained a Master’s Degree in Business Administration in 2016. She also received her Civil & Commercial Mediator Training from University of the West of England, Bristol.

Malar continues to practice in Messrs Kamil Hashim Raj & Lim, Petaling Jaya as an associate and currently handles general litigation and conveyancing matters. Her areas of practice include Commercial Law pertaining to amongst others Securities Litigation, Bankruptcy and Winding-up proceedings, Civil Litigation, Corporate Litigation, Building Construction Litigation and Risk Management. She also attends to Probate, Family, Recovery, Remedial and Banking matters.

Noormah Mohd Noordin

Noormah graduated from the Administration and Law Faculty of University MARA in 2005. Upon completing her LLB (Hons) she chambered at Messrs Soraya Chuah & Associates and called to the Bar in October 2005.

After being called to the Bar in October 2005, in January 2006 she joined Messrs C. K. Tan & Co. handing General Litigation such as Divorce and Probate matters.

In November 2006, she joined Messrs Paul Cheah & Associates as a legal assistant and specialized in Banking Litigation especially in Hire Purchase & Housing Loan matters.

In September 2008, she joined Messrs Soo Thien Meng & Nashrah as a legal assistant.

In December 2009, she joined Messrs Gregory, Yusran & Associates as a legal assistant specializing in Banking Litigation and on 15th February 2012 she was appointed as a partner managing the Klang branch.

In May 2015, she joined Messrs Kamil Hashim Raj & Lim and continues to handle General Litigation matters.

 

Jayanthi Suppiah

Jayanthi graduated with a degree in Law LL.B (Hons) from the University of London in 2006 and obtained her Certificate in Legal Practice from the Legal Profession Qualifying Board, Malaysia in 2008. She did her pupillage as a Federal Counsel in the International Affairs Division, a division under the supervision of the Deputy Solicitor General I of Attorney General's Chambers (AGC), Malaysia, from June 2009 until June 2010. She was then admitted and enrolled as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 25th June 2010.

Jayanthi started her own business as a Consultant in recruitment industry from July 2008 until April 2018. The role was demanding, diverse and involved visiting clients to build and develop positive relationships with them, developing a good understanding of client companies, their industry, what they do, their work culture and environment, interviewing and assessing prospective applicants and matching them with vacancies at client companies.

Thereafter, she commenced her legal practice as a Legal Assistant at Messrs Kames & Co in 2018 handling accident and personal injury matters.

In March 2019, she joined Messrs Kamil Hashim Raj & Lim and currently handling conveyancing matters.
